v5.34 - Menu customisation

Version 5.34 adds even easier ways for you to customise your content with the ability to hide country flags and quicker menu formatting, plus a new feature to enhance the guest experience called Synced Order History.

As always please note that the property branding and content shown are from the IRIS Beta property, but when these features are released it will be with your property branding, logos and colour schemes applied as they are today. If you want any help customising your theme or logos, just get in touch.

Hiding Country Flags

For our first feature in this release we received some great feedback regarding country flags across the guest journey.

For some features we display country flags to guests to make certain tasks easier, such as picking a different language or choosing the international phone number code - however not everybody wants to display flags, so we have updated our settings to allow flags to be hidden across the whole guest journey. Instead we will adapt the interface so that all the functionality remains, but without flags.

When this setting is active, flags will no longer be shown to any guest when changing the language or when asking for a phone number in the Order Form. If you want to activate this setting let us know and we can help you out.

Improved Outlet Buttons

We believe that even the smallest changes can make a big difference, and we are constantly making tweaks to enhance the ordering experience, this updated feature is no different.

We’ve improved the buttons shown on Outlets to more accurately reflect the current open status of the Outlet itself. For example, if your Outlet is currently closed but allows Deliver Later orders, the button will now prompt the guests to “Pre-order now” or if your Outlet only allows Deliver Now orders it will simply say “View menu”.

Quick Menu Formatting

We know that it can be very time consuming to format your menu into a digital context and often takes lots of effort to make it look just right. Our new settings for Menu Formatting will make this experience much easier, saving you time and enhancing the ordering experience for your guests.

We’ve added three new settings that allow you to automatically format all instances of certain content across the guest journey, these areas are:

  • Section names

  • Category names

  • Item and Item Modifier names

Once set, these areas will always be formatted in the guest journey following your preferences. When it comes to formatting options we’ve got for you to choose from including:

  • All uppercase - LUNCH MENU

  • All lowercase - lunch menu

  • First letter of every word capitalised and first letter - Lunch Menu

  • First letter of first word capitalised - Lunch menu

Let us know if you want to customise your menu and we can update these settings to suit your style or by default it will be left empty and you will continue to have full manual customisation.

Synced Order History

The Order History page is a great way for guests to review past orders, however this was stuck on a single device for guests - not anymore!

Guests can now get a consistent list of their orders across any device, all they need to do is tap the sync button and enter the email which they used to place the orders, and everything will automatically be downloaded and saved onto the new device.

To activate this feature you need two things, one is toggling the setting on in the IRIS Platform and the second is the email address must be one of the accepted fields in the Order Form for your Outlet. Feel free to reach out if you need any help from us to get this set up.

If this feature isn’t for you then don’t worry - the Order History will continue to work on a single device exactly as before.

General updates

This release also includes a number of smaller enhancements behind the scenes and general performance improvements.
